If you liked Hero's Quest, later named the Quest For Glory series by Sierra, then this game is a must, and you are probably at least 30 years old. Heroine's Quest is heavily based on this game series, and even has other classic Sierra game references. It is largely a point-and-click adventure game with a fair amount of dynamic RPG character stat building; the more you use your skills, the more they develop. Each character class is enjoyable to play in its own way. Crystal Shard has done a superb job of recreating a classic through core game mechanics, voice acting, music...great stuff. Thank you, Crystal Shard!
Definitely worth the $4.99, Combat Cats is a nice spin on the matching-type puzzle games. Complete levels to acquire coins and catnip to purchase various ship and weapon upgrades, replay levels to go for extra bank and/or a better rating to unlock further levels, complete with boss battles. Above the gameboard, you can watch your feline space warrior colorfully decimate enemies as you make matches, trigger nukes, etc., which honestly most of the time you'll be focused on the gameboard. Last but not least, a good helping of in-game achievements as well!
Personally, I feel that many, if not all, RPG designers could learn a thing or two from Claustrophobia. The replay value is through the roof, a large variety of unique enemies, a huge variety of items to find, use and equip, a satisfying crafting system, excellent non-restrictive character development, randomly generated multi-floored dungeons complete with randomly stocked shops...it's just a @#*king awesome game folks. It doesn't have uber-realistic graphics and doesn't require a powerhouse rig to run, in fact relatively dinosaur-aged computers should be able to run Claustrophobia without problems. Don't get me wrong, it's still a visually appealing game, a variety of crisp tilesets, your custom made character changes with the gear you equip...yeah by now you should've stopped reading this and bought the game. I simply can't wait for the final product, the anticipation may cause me to vomit & cry.
Brilliantly fun as far as zombie-whoopin' goes
