I feel as though the upgrades from the mystery urns are not as compelling as modern-day rogue-like upgrades
take the mobile game Survivor.io for example, every level-up the character gets three options to choose from, each either giving impressive passive upgrades or unique and interesting weapons
simply having a damage upgrade or a health increase seems a bit lackluster, especially with the high expectations of rogue-likes nowadays.
Is there something else that is featured in your game that I may have missed or was not included?
explosive sheild seems kinda odd, everything else was long range, perfect for a mage, and yet the mage gets a shield that explodes around them?
me personally, id lean into the glass build idea a bit more, perhaps a quick weapon/ability with semi-low damage with an extremely low cooldown
basically a some revolver
imagine this:
shoot
magic
dodge with blink
shoot
magic
shoot magic
all in like 5 seconds
IMO, faster combat >>>> slow combat

something i recently learned was that (depending on your game engine) you can just draw each limb on a separate frame (example: image of JUST the head. image of JUST the body, legs, arms, etc)
why do you do this?
you can customize a HECK of a lot easier with this, not to mention the added bonus of being able to focus on animating one thing at a time

id love to see something weird like it being able to shoot diagonally onto some sloped angles
maybe have the player's mouse input/placement be aiming the gun
also also, this looks like a possible speed-run game, and hey, movement with momentum is never a bad thing to add to a game
im pretty new, and the effects look fine... but its just missing something.. hard to describe it
idk much about art, but looks pretty chillax and a soft tone
i like it
so this is.... a... rogue-like?
