But what if i ain't got a 3D printer?
Will you offer a printing and shipping service, maybe in coopperation with one of the websites that offer 3D printing services?

Also would be really cool if this would not only be usable for 3D printing static models, but maybe also RC cars.

And what about a possibility to import own Modules into the game?
This could be a good use of the steam workshop and a way to expand the game with User created Content.

Also, will there be a Track editor?

Who's that professional developer you're talking about?
According to the descriptions in your team member list, the term "professional" wouldn't apply to anyone there.

For me a professional developer is someone who works/worked in a game developing company, or was involved in a commercial game production before.

Seriously, there's nothing wrong in beeing not (yet) a professional game developer, so i think it's unneccessary to claim to be/have one.

It only causes higher expectations on the final game and people could be disapointed with the end result.

The stargate dial simmulator is a nice idea in theory, but in terms of gamedesign you might want to think about it one more time.

There's certainly something wrong with a gameplay mechanic if i have to switch between a game and the webbrowser, even considdering different keyboard layouts (querz for me) and

still fail due to keys not beeing assigned to the button they should be.

In the end i figured out the right keys by trial&error; and reached abydos.

The DHD worked a lot better, since i was able to directly put in the symbols i noted on a

sheet of paper. (which also is a gameplay no-go these days)

So i was finally able to visit Tolan and go back to earth from there.

I'd suggest you to get rid of the keyboard inputs completly to avoid issues with different keyboard layouts.

Maybe do a virtual keyboard HUD with the actual symbols on them.

Also it might be a good idea to have some sort of gate adress manager, since most ppl won't even be able to remember a single adress of these cryptic symbols and don't wanna end up with tabbing between game and browser or using paper.

Once you put in an adress for the first time manually, it'll be stored there and you can access it whenever you need.
Maybe dialing it just by selecting from the manager or by assigning a 3 digit quick dial code to the adresses you use more often (e.g. 000 for dialing home).
So you'd only have to enter the source planets symbol and press the red button.

Or the adress you've choosen in the manager will only illuminate the symbols you need to press so you still have to dial manually but be a lot faster.

Read carefully, it is defcon 5, but code 9 is the code for a certain threat.
Since it's defcon 5 it has to be something really dangerouse e.g. could be intruder alert, or an active self destruct sequence.

I don't think i'd spend $15 on this, i cannot even play the demo for a long time because the sudden frame freeze gives me headache (streaming issue?) and the visual glitches are very noticable (LoD or Shadow detail switching).

I'm on a fairly good system and had no issues with other UE4 demos and even tried lower graphic settings, but the freeze remained.

Beside that, i miss some more interactivity in that game.
The only thing you can do so far is slowly walking arround and activate one voice recorder.
What about the ability to run for a short time?
What about beeing able to interact with some enviromental props like... coffee machine?
What about Finding objects and codes that enable you to access previously locked Areas?

What about a map feature? IMO very important for any kind of exploration game.
You might even get away with placing them in certain rooms like an emergency evacuation plan.

Currently it looks a little to flat for me.

The SGC sign on the left console is also somewhat stretched.

Reminds me on the spiral stairs i made once for testing purpose in UDK.

As for your stairs, it lacks some texture i think.
A nice metal tex and diamond plate pattern for the stairs would be good.
Allthough the resolution and grain makes it hard to see on that pic, i'd say you should also add beveled edges, too. Preferably to the normalmap, not as geometry.

Not sure about the display of health and other stuff on the gun though.
First of all the gun will move fast and move a lot, so it might be hard to read the bars on it within the battle.
Also it's very limited space, so you cannot put much information on there, the perspective also makes it hard to determin exactly how much is left and If you're keeping the 3rd Person mode, you'll need a HUD anyway.

I guess you're trying to keep the Screen as clean as possible, but sometimes a good HUD will improve a games atmosphere, too.

Since your protagonist is a robot, he'd have a more augmented reallity like vision anyway.

You should also take a look at the channeled MegaMan FPS prototype called Maveric Hunter.
This covers more or less what i'd expect from a MegaMan FPS.

They're indeed making money from it.
All these engine licences that cost $20/month will give them a nice little income.
And i bet you have to stay up-to-date with the development kit to be able to contribute.

So they're not charging the players for playing the game, they charge contributors, the ones that allready invest time and skill into forging something.

I'd rather like to see them offering a deal where you only have to give a fair share to Epic once you actually generate money with your stuff.

Like if you sell something on the built in shop, or for Hobby-/Indi-developers when they sell their game.

A free version of the UE4 without C++ source code would be a good start for content creators, to be able to contribute without beeing charged for it.

Right now it feels like: hey would you like to help me to create my game? Cool. But at first pay $20/month or you won't be allowed to do so.

I hope you have to drink a lot of coffe in that game.

Could work like that:
everytime your character gets affraid due to things he saw or sounds he heared, his paranoia level increases.
Also if you don't drink enough coffe, situations that cause an increasing paranoia level will happen more often due to the character getting tired and starting to halucinate.

The only thing that will help you to stay wake and lowering paranoia is drinking coffe or taking pills that prevent sleep.

I hope you didn't pay a high price for the ship.
Doesn't look very good IMO.

Also traveling near lightspeed won't be possible with nuclear fusion.
regulary 10-12% of Lightspeed can be achived, 50% if using an exorbitant ammount of fuel.

You'd need an Antimatter/conversion drive.

Allready creating a good athmosphere, but lightning and texture/shader effects seriously need an upgrade.
Otherwise the really nice enviroments will just remain looking dull, gray and flat.

Are you using lightmapping at all?

A molten moon? What's the story behind this?
Usually something small without an athmosphere cools down much faster then something big with an athmosphere.

Also i don't see possible heat causes like heavy asteroid impacts and even if that would apply, it also affects a planet.

Strong gravitation that breaks up the moon surface and brings up hot lava from beyond would also be possible, but certainly look different.
Look at the dark stains on our Moon, they were caused by exactly the same thing.

Putting aside these logic conflicts, the screenshots look very good.
Keep up the good work.

The best 12€ i've invested in a Game this year, fact.
Ofc. i knew what kind of game i had to expect since i played the original and TSP Demo.
A few things i'd like to suggest for a possible sequel...

1. a graphical story tree:
Kinda roadmap that graphically displays your path of choices.
Only displays the ones you allready made while playing the game, but gives you a node at the point of decission so you know where make a different decission next time.
This would help ppl to find all the routes and endings within the game.
Maybe it could even let you load the game on a certain decission node.

2. more adventure and puzzle elements:
Some rooms in which you need to solve some kind of puzzle in order to advance on a different route and maybe even collectable items like keys, picklock, etc.

3. more interactivity within the levels:
disabling the computers is nice, i'd like to be able to press more buttons all over the maps. Coffe machines, copier, light switches etc. and pick up small stuff like cups (would be also necessary for #2)
