Yes there is, just pause the game and select "music off".

That would make the puzzles too easy :). Challenges are fun! :D

Yes, the game can get quite twitchy and exciting :). But if you die 4 times on a level the gameplay slows down a bit, giving you a chance to still beat the level by yourself.
