Spectra

Game review

this is a nice little puzzler. =)
it's not anything that will "blow you away", obviously, but, if you're bored and have some time to kill between, go ahead and give it a try.

oh, and, oddly enough, the visuals and music aren't "overly assaulting" in the slightest. they work very well together to form an immersive environment that helps one concentrate.

Diversitas

Game review

"i havent buy your game, but i still dare to grade it with 1."

it honestly looks awful. what you have here is a modern console shooter (games which are worthless in every regard apart from looking pretty), but without the graphics. the story is something i would be ashamed of my 5 year old nephew making up, and you don't even bother with proper spelling or grammar. this is fine as a first 3d project or something, but trying to sell it for money is a joke.

McDROID

Game review

this game is brilliant. it blends multiple ideas to create a system that has all the best bits of tower defense (unit placement and waves of enemies), shmup (LAZORS EVERYWHERE, manual aim control), and rts (resource management) to make something that isn't quite any of them. the environment looks beautiful, and the 3 dimensional nature is actually utilised in level design rather than just being purely aesthetic. the soundtrack is radically different from the good but overused chiptune fair that is so pupular these days, which is a nice change, and the cartoony design and voices help to create an environment that isn't frustrating, despite the difficulty level (which is a nice change from other similar games as well.)

overall, the only things i could ask for would be a leetle bit of polishing here and there to things like graphics and player/turret voices and LOTS AND LOTS of levels, both of which seem very possible, what with the current version still being a beta

Incursion

Game review

thus far, it's fantastic.
the graphics seem a bit inconsistent in one or two places, such as the title screen text being smoothly shaded, but the overall ambiance is beautiful. the soundtrack fits perfectly, and the few hints of story we have so far are very intriguing.

/me can't wait for the full release =D

Revenge Of The Cats: Ethernet

Game review

like it says, this is still a prototype, meaning it isn't too polished. however, a lot of things are already very promising. the health system, in particular, is a refreshing change from the classic "die, respawn, and die again" system, and the movement speed and weapon choices make it great for multiplayer.

King Arthur's Gold

Game review

it's a nice concept, but the game's controls render it unplayable. i need to be able to select which block i want to destroy or place with precision, and that just doesn't happen.

NightSky

Game review

this game (or at least the "alternative" mode. i haven't tried normal yet) uses a combination of mind-bending puzzles and, to a greater extent, pixel-perfect execution requirements to provide hours of addictive gameplay while using a calming ambience to stave off frustrated ragequits. XD

Jamestown: Legend of the Lost Colony

Game review

although a bit short, this game has every bit of the gameplay needed to follow in the wake of the classic snes shmup era.

Project Black Sun

Game review

it plays like a slightly sluggish mix of megaman and metroid, with classic enemy types from the second(although they have different sprites). however, those games were popular for a reason :P

i'm not a fan of the soundtrack, but the graphics are fantastic.
