One Month and a Sequel Already

PhotonTurtle Blog

Warehouse has been out for one month on the OSX store. It didn't sell many copies, which is normal for the platform as it's a pretty low volume sales venue. In that time I did get 2 full updates released and a third update completed which is pending release. It feels about right for its iPad release at this point, so that's what's next.

The code base for Warehouse 2 is integrated into Warehouse 1, making them nearly the same game. The puzzles are quite different, but that's more because the code couldn't support the puzzles that are present in Warehouse 2.

After that, it'll probably be one more Warehouse game of this style. The next project is either going to be a multiplayer strategy game of the MMOS variety or a frantic action-puzzle game.

Release

Warehouse is released. Unfortunately, Apple has it listed under an old company name, hopefully that can be fixed. The game itself was programmed very quickly, the puzzles took a while, and the art was a painful process of working with many artists who either took the deposit and ran or quit after doing one piece of art and sucked away money in the process.

Luckily, a friend finished out the art (especially the illustrations, which I couldn't possibly do without a lot of practice) and the game is released. Like with my other releases, I botched the PR, that's becoming my style.

Anyway, if anybody reads this, they can hit me up for an OSX promo code. You get 50 per release and Warehouse 1.1 is right around the corner, which means that counter will be reset and I can afford to hand them out like candy.
