There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.
When I was a kid I was kind of sad that we will never know how exactly dinosaurs looked like.
Luckily I was proven horribly wrong and we actually do know quite exactly how some of the dinosaurs looked like.
One very well preserved fossil of Anchiornis huxleyi revealed not only how the feathers looked like but also what colour they had I53.photobucket.com.
This picture pretty much accurately represents how this creature looked like.
Looks like a woodpecker.
Yop. Most people would not recognize dinosaurs if they were sitting on tree.
This kind of dinosaurs that is. Triceratops they would probably notice.
Velociraptor also looked much more bird like than most people think.
You are right.
People have somewhat unrealistic views from Jurassic park where Velociraptors were giant (compared to real life ones), scaly and very deadly and agressive pack hunters.
I am not aware of any evidence they were hunting in groups. There were similar size as turkey, feathered and were hunting pig-sized dinosaurs.
Microraptor is another dinosaur about which we know how it looked like. Also very bird-like:
