Based in Hammersmith in London, Payload Studios is the award winning developer behind TerraTech – the ultimate exploration and combat game, set on the off world. TerraTech started life in 2012, and the Payload team started to assemble in late 2013 before successfully surpassing a £35,000 funding round on Kickstarter in summer 2014. Now enjoying life on Steam Early Access, the game – described by The Guardian as ‘the next Minecraft’ – charges players with creating their own vehicles out of a host of different building blocks both to harvest whatever resources they can find from recently discovered exo-planet and to take down rival Techs also out to sap up the world's resources.

Hello! Glad you're enjoying the game :)

1 - We'd rather have difficult areas of the world that the player can choose to enter if they dare. We're working towards this becoming more apparent at the moment.

2 - AI improvements are very much on the priority list! :)

3 - It is now!

4 - Hotkey assigning is definitely something we want in the game.

5 - We'll be looking into populating the world loads in the near future.

6 - Yes! Check out the Hawkeye concepts over at Terratechgame.com

7 - We have randomly generated enemy bases in the world now.

8 - We get asked this a lot. It's something we'll look into further down the line!

9 - Feel free to head over to our Official Forums (http://forum.terratechgame.com/index.php) and post your ideas. The devs are a lot more active there and you'll be able to chat with other players who have had the same ideas as you :)

Unfortunately as we are an Indie studio, this approach is actually impossible for us. It costs a lot of money to make a big game like TerraTech will be when it's finished, and as we have a team of staff that we need to pay, in addition to bills, license fees & also expo costs (as well as many other things).

We do update every two weeks and we have implemented stable and unstable branches to the game in Steam so people have a choice over the update they play.

It might be to do with your anti virus software. The game is perfectly safe, but because it's a program in a zip folder some agressive anti virus software might not like the look of it. Try temporarily turning your anti virus off and the game should run.

Thanks drjd24. Is there some 'mouse wheel' functionality on a Macbook mouse? You can use that to rotate blocks as well.

A few people have mentioned this issue now though, so we'll do our best to sort it out.

You have very limited fuel in the air. The more boosters you have attached, the more fuel tanks you need to support them. Fire your boosters in short bursts as well. Hope that helps!

Linux will come later in development depending on resources and the success of our Kickstarter. We're running on very limited time/ income and money for now, but Linux is definitely still in our future plans.

The hammer does damage, but the values on a lot of the weapons aren't final. There's still a lot of balancing work to be done :)

There is more damage caused by general collisions in this build. We may tweak the block damage values again if people are finding that things are getting destroyed too easily. We need you to have lots of things to build with after all!
