We aren't planning a Linux release at the moment. However we want to release a Mac version at some point. If it turns out that there isn't much work to create a Linux build from there, we might check that out.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed :) Really looking forward to play this!
All cars will have two different skins which can be unlocked in Blood Race and picked manually. Plus there is a brand new Muscle Car.
Singleplayer only to be precise. There are 30 events in Blood Race in 5 different leagues so there is a lot of gameplay in this update :) Plus there is a ton of improvements to things like car physics, a new improved camera, fully destructible cars (their parts fall off) and more... :)
Looking forward to it :)
We can't confirm a Linux release at this point though it is technically possible. In terms of repetitiveness stay tuned for further news explaining more about the game :)
The entire map is currently done in 3DSMax, but that could as well be any other package as Ogre has exporters for almost any modelling package. We are using some custom tools that we created and we hope to make them available after the project (as soon as we make them more friendly to use). A lot can also be changed with the game scripts.
Awesome teaser! And congratulations on the prize!
Congratulations on the release!
Thanks. Yes I am a mapper, but I only work for D.I.P.R.I.P. :)

Yes, the update is now live.
Our current priority is squashing all the bugs. New stuff will be coming as we progress further.
Thanks! Always working on more :)
All particles are client side. Maybe we can implement a particle detail setting in the future.
Unfortunately we had to decrease the number of particles because of performance. Most of the destructible props had three times more parts, but that was too much...
The movie is now being processed by the server. It should be available in about an hour.
Great skybox and overall composition!
Hi,
we have improved steering in the build that is coming and are constantly working on improving it even more.
As it comes to racing, such a mode is not coming in this release, but if you look at Demolition and how the map is built it actually is a death race :) The attacking team has to "race" up a hill and inside the dam carrying a bomb, while the defending team tries to stop that. There are are some ramps on that map for "jumping" and the improved handling makes it easier now.
Plus we have added a new feature that allows you to flip your car back on its wheels by just pressing the direction you want to flip. It really makes the game more fun as you will probably very soon forget about the need to respawn.
The diprip.fgd file that is required for mapping is included in the main mod directory. You will have to add halflife2.fgd and hl2mp.fgd to your game configuration files inside hammer in order to have all required entities visible. D.I.P.R.I.P. uses info_player_deathmatch as the starting entity. Please visit the official D.I.P.R.I.P. forums for more information about D.I.P.R.I.P. mapping - Diprip.com
The new version will include a lot of new entities so we are planning on releasing the source .vmf file for one of the maps as a tutorial.
We are closing the current release so that we can enter a closed testing phase with more testers. An update should be arriving in a few weeks.
The next big update will be coming in about a month.
Hey,
Thanks for the feedback! We are currently working on a team game mode where one team has to carry a bomb to the other team's base. The bomb has to be delivered a few times as one explosion is simply not enough :) So far the play tests are very promising. Its a really cool feeling when you have the bomb, there are three of your squad mates convoying you in the front and suddenly mortar shells start flying in the air, a few enemy cars attack your group and the only thing that you want to do is get past that hell and deliver the payload :)
If you can play any other mods then you will be able to play DIPRIP.
Orange Box is not required to run Orange Box mods. You will only have to download the Orange Box SDK Base which is free if you own a Source based game that allows playing mods (e.g. HL2, CS:S, DOD:S), so if you can play DIPRIP now you will also be able to play it in the future.
The trailer music and a few others will be soon available for download on our web page.
Yes, we want to add singleplayer to the game, but its definitely not coming soon.
In regards to the vehicle controls, we will be adding vehicle movement prediction in a future update. We are using our own vehicle physics which gives us full access to what is happening with the cars. We found using Source's vehicle physics not adequate to what we want to achieve and so we have written our own. We will be constantly improving the driving model until we are satisfied with the end effect.
We didn't want to further delay D.I.P.R.I.P.'s release as most of our testers said that the delay in controls is acceptable up to about 60 ping and decided to include that in a future update.
Just HL2 is enough. Its running on the EP1 engine.
