1. Hmm, I haven't tried playing regicide with the mod. I'll try to reproduce the bug!
2. Balancing the game ourselves would be really time consuming so we try to focus on content and follow the vanilla game with balancing and gameplay
3. Aw come on! :( We're working on it but we're not yet done with the Carolingians (you can view the current status in Atlas)

The Carolingians are not yet suitable for playing with (they don't have f.e. a full units roster) but you can view their building in Atlas to see what they look like :)
Could you provide us some more details about the error you're experiencing? (What is error message, With which hero does it happen, etc...)
.Eol.: modding 0 A.D. is something that can be learned very quickly, we even have some modding tutorials around. Check out this article: Moddb.com
Eastern Roman Empire is definitely a planned faction. As for the other, maybe some units can be added as special units to the Norse but I don't think it will be a standalone faction :)
As of now, the most recent release doesn't work with Alpha 22. We need a little more time to get things ready. Stay tuned!

Hi! The development has been really slow over the past few months so the version on github might or might not work with the latest version of 0 A.D., as soon as we have something to show (a new release or something ;) ) we'll definitely do a post here... :)

We try to aim for a new release within a few weeks after the release of the main game. (and we have inside info about the release date so we can plan in advance :) )
Actually, we haven't really looked into the second part yet (part 1 is not even close to a final release) but yeah, it's likely that some gunpowder units will be introduced

@Justus: what's worth noting is that you can provide your mods in a way that they consume a bit less hdd space (the mod content stays zipped). See CoM releases for examples... :)

How did you try to open the mod? I mean, I have no idea why on earth it would open a sendmail daemon, it doesn't even include any kind of code compared to the vanilla game...

I don't there is a potential problem here. It's not like we have religious powers or such atm (so currently, religious differences are purely visual)
We haven't one yet, but we plan to do a Japanese faction from the Heian Period at some point in the future.
