Thanks mate! Definitely thinking about cracking out an M60 soon!

Yeah the monsters are scared of strong light. So flashlights and droppable lights keep them at bay. The stronger the light the more scared they are. But they will always try and find their way around the light and get you from your darkest area, but occasionally one will break out, attack you and will spur on the others. Occasionally you will set off swarms, where hordes of the monsters will come and attack you.
If you go to www.thelawlessonline.com you will still be able to play the first two levels for free using most popular browsers :)
Interesting idea! I'll have to get google translate out :)
Sorry for the late reply. It comes out of whatever 19 euros is in pounds. :)
Thanks both of you! Really happy the way it's turning out.
Hey brainz, you're right the character models are surprisingly low poly especially for Unreal Engine 4 but if you compare the human model which contains a wireframe, you can see that the high poly version is over 40000 polys and the low is under 3000... But the reduction in detail is definitely not relative. This game is also not first person and due to the camera position and the premise that visibility is highly restricted, you're not likely to be in a position where you would notice in-game, but you're right, I should probably showcase the engine at it's best but I'm addicted to reducing poly counts!! Maybe I'll use those saved polys on environment assets :D
Thanks Rocket ninja!
Hey man,
Yeah I am subscribing. It's 19 euros for "European countries". SO technically more expensive for us, but it's worth it.
Thank you! It is difficult to make something thick, lush, full of life and at the same time be efficient for a game engine. Just made to make the most of each plane and some nice opacity masking :)
Hey OvenSlug,
This game is not based on the book, after a quick google search, it seems they have a similar premise!
Hey! Thanks for following us and the nice comments! :)
Hey Joneau!
Sorry for the really late reply! You are right, there are tonnes of those games out already, but it was just a test for us to see how quickly we could make a game, after working so hard on Lawless, we wanted something quick and simple to refresh us. The actual development time only took 4 days :) We have some new projects to put up on here soon too :)
Definitely #1 :)
We wanted detailed hitboxes so that players can squeeze out as many different point combinations as possible, also for achievement purposes, it was good to be able to tell between a nut shot and a knee shot. ;) but as you said, people do drop dead from a hand shot!
Have you played the demo yet, SinKing? The Lawless is more of a rail shooter, so everything in the game is pre-rendering. Definite upsides and definite downsides to this approach but interestingly, the decision was driven more by the touch interface.
Thanks for the comment, by the way, If you havent played the browser-based demo yet then we would love to hear your thoughts on it? You can play it at www.thelawlessonline.com..
Hey Xandeck. Glad you like it, thanks for the heads up that's something we have missed that actually definitely needs to be on the site so thank you! Should be up in the next few days.
Im happy it was still fun even though it was lagging! :) What browser were/are you using? We have noticed issues with playing the beta in Internet Explorer which is currently proving difficult to fix.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. :)
Thanks for the comment! :) Yeah the action is based on tapping each of the targets. Each target has 10 different scoring areas plus a speed multiplier. So the faster more accurate you are, the more points you score and a higher rating you get. Currently these are the free levels you get with the app but the full paid version has longer, more challenging levels.
We are also kind of working on the "easy to complete, hard to master" principle. Hopefully it will work. I will be sure to contact you when a playable version is available and would love some feedback from that.
In the later levels you switch between various weapons - revolvers, shotguns, melee, rifles etc. :)
Look amazing, really nice graphics. Good luck
Hey Baszermaszer, luckily it's not just me on my own, I work on all the art but I also work with two programmers and a rigger. :)
We're thinking about releasing a PC version at some point, although right now it's a bit of an after-thought, although most of the gameplay revolves around the touch interface so it would probably be a better experience on a touch device.
Alongside The Lawless we are also working on The Lawless Online which will be a Role playing real time strategy game for PC based in the same world, but that is still quite early in development as focus is on the app currently. Over the next few months though we will hopefully be able to show some of the progress on that.
Thanks Nick22! Hopefully with The Lawless I can convince you of the bad-assery involved in Westerns... :D
EXCELLENT trailer. Looks great.
