Though I've never tested to use our mod with the 2.3 player patch together, I don't think that's a good idea. There will be potential crashes or other things that will not work correctly.

Some users report that if they use the "Browse.." button to select the installation location, the installer will add an extra "HomeworldRM" to the path, resulting in a path like "...\Homeworld\HomeworldRM\HomeworldRM".
If you are experiencing the same problem, please remember to remove the extra "HomeworldRM" in the path.

With HWRM v2.1/2.205, we don't expect the game to crash except the Thaddis Sabbah mini-campaign which has a known bug. If your game still crashes a lot, please let us know.

You're using HWRM version 1.22, which is a really really old version. The newest FXG only supports HWRM v2.0/2.1/2.205 . Please update your game and try again.

Note that the game log file is regenerated every time you restart the game, so you have to get the log right after your attempt to launch FXG Mod. And also remember to tell us which version of HWRM you are using (Steam or GOG, v2.0, 2.1 or 2.205)

The launcher thing WildHeart talked about is for those who download the mod from steam workshop. If you download the installer here, you should chose create Start menu shortcut or desktop shortcut during the installation. Using that shortcut should bring you into FX Mod. Please let us know if you still have problem even using the shortcut.

If there're "" in the target field, the -mod should be after(not bewtween) the "", i.e. "...\HomeworldRM.exe" -mod FXG.big

I think it's something about the drivers of your graphics card. Try downgrade it, especially if you are using an AMD graphics card.

workshop doesn't support mods that have more than one .big files at present ,That's why havn't uploaded this mod to steamworkshop.

It may be the QEffectsGL plugin . It may cause some graphic glitches. If so, please delete the two files below in Homeworld2\Bin\Release : QeffectsGL.ini
,opengl32.dll
And FX MOD will be coverted for the remastered release.

Try version 1.88. It cotains all the 7 races(although the Bentusi in 1.88 is only a preview and not completed). We have made some big changes since version 2.0 ,and we haven't completed those changes for Hiigara and Vaygr.Chances are that Hiigara will come back in FX2.2.
