I recommend joining the Planet Vampire discord and sharing your work there.
Weapons are also kf2/kfs's same as player models.
Right now it's not possible to do this with MCM2. We have been able to unpack its level files but it uses a different version of .slt and .trn compared to MCM1. Hopefully I'll find a programmer willing to adapt the current plugins we have to MCM2.
I did not make this mod it's a reupload. It was made 10-ish years ago. Its download links were down for a few years.
Descent 3's source code has been released officially: Github.com
It appears he was correct. The game includes a level editor according to ValuSoft's website from 2004.
The level editor is built directly into the game itself and there's a tutorial on how to use it located in Battle For Troy\tbd\custommaps
The editor has been reuploaded here

The official tutorial is located here

There is now a NAD importer and exporter included with the plugin. It also supports animation tags.
It couldn't hurt.
I dunno why this was archived. It's the most recent patch for the game.
I remember playing this trial endlessly when I was very young
Did you try the V2 or V3 fix?
Two of the maps that it recommends using with the mod have been separately reuploaded to moddb here.

The other two are unfortunately lost.
For some reason the author uploaded it here

I've reuploaded the mod here to moddb.
For those of you looking for it, the download is located here: Indiedb.com
I didn't make this tool it was made by RoadTrain 16 years ago
EDIT: I have updated this download to include OBJ2Map 1.3. Which has a bunch of new features like support for Valve map files.
I didn't create this tool it's 14 years old. I just reuploaded it here because all download links are dead.
Update March 2024. The LWO Exporter links are now dead. However I had the foresight to archive them via archive.org. So the link has now been amended.
There's actually a tutorial that goes over this right here Indiedb.com
Yes. There's a few mods that did this like E-Mod.
Theoretically yes. A few mods like E-Mod did this with existing models so it's just a matter of doing it in Java.
