Hi, I have been keeping a close eye on frame rates whilst building levels. I have been loading some of the more demanding levels of Crysis 2 and seeing how they fair. All I can say is that apart from the attention to optimization we will be pushing the engine as far as they did when building Crysis 2. With average frame rates as our guide you should be able to play this mod as well as you played Crysis 2. Hope that makes sense?

We all gotta start somewhere. Simply recreating the countless assets not related to Crysis 2 would be a mammoth job for our team. We are walking now poised to run.

It's been a productive year for Dark Craft.

Sapience was always going to be a long term project because of it's scale. The backdrop remains the same and the journey you as the player makes through this world was decided very early on.

How and who presents the story and script is now in full development by Maarten and although C-zom is not writing the script and players personal story, rest assured his comments and input will still be fundamental to it's success.

The team can't wait to get this out for you all to experience and it's all shaping up nicely.

Later,

We are still in Alpha stage but close to a fully playable experience. All 12 levels are in basic concept form now with the first 6 fully realized and undergoing detailing, optimization and AI scripting.
It's really coming together now and hope to release soon.
Thanks for the continuing support :)

Yeah there are some androids that are under the command of the AI we hope to re-skin them and alter their voices with custom sounds in the future.

Jason187781 - - 18 comments @ Why we removed the school shooter mod

ModDb is well within it's rights to take down what it decides is inappropriate. I have never heard of the mod but can only imagine what it's content involves. It's definitly bad taste and can only assume at this point that it not a valued entry. I have checked out the youtube vids and to be honest what I can find isn't that offensive visually.

I too beleive in free speech and content but where do you draw the line? Nersery School Shooter!!! Baby killer!!! Kiddy capture!!! are you saying those should be allowed because it's a constitutional right?

I am afraid it went too far....

We are all responsible in protecting the integrity of modding in general, If you feel it acceptable to produce these mods then you are damaging the scene. Creating cheap controversial mods just for hits is in bad taste.

That's my opinion.

Both me and C-zom have looked intor the SDK for cryengine 3 and it's a massive undertaking. We are close to announcing 2 new projects one of which will be a Crysis 2 mod. It's a sci-fi shooter and although not along the same lines as The Worry of Newport it's a stepping stone for finding out what can be acheved in CryEngine 3. It will have horror elements and a uniqe story with areas that are more atmospheric than all out generic gunfights. Stay tuned and we look forward seeing you in the near future.

You need to check that you have split up the folders when installing the Mod, Newport 2 folder in mods and Part2 Folder in levels, That might be the reason.
Good Luck :)

Some of the set peices will scare you, But it's done in a way that's part of the story, not just a loud bang or flying object just for the sake of it. I think you will find yourself taking a second every now and again after a set peice to collect your nerves, I know I do when accidently triggering a sequence that we've created whilst bug testing, and scaring the crap out of myself....
Either way if you like Horror, You will love this ;)

Jason187781 - - 18 comments @ CryENGINE 3 available soon

I have been modding with Cry Engine 2 for years,
It's so complicated because it caters for so much. You need every aspect available to create any type of game, senario or situation. Having all these option from the get go is I agree daunting.

It's only as buggy as it's made, I have never been held back in what I visioned, only held back in the knowledge on how to make it a vision on screen. It's very unforgiving at first but after time very very rewarding also. You need to stick at it and take small steps with every new project, eventually you will find yourself creating fully working, bug free and anything you could possibly imagine mods, like me :)

I am currently at work on my 5th full project as part of a Mod team working on The Worry of Newport series.

The news Cry Engine 3 is going to be available is for me more exciting than any game itself being announced or released. and cant wait to see what extras it has to offer.

Yours sincerly Crytek Fanboy ;)
