Hi, I've been playing Savage 2 for a long time now, and I am willing to help anyone who is new and wants tips or advice on how to play the game properly.

As for the comments below such as "the FPS sucks" or "it's a bad copy of Savage 1", the posters of these comments are either biased because of experiences in Savage 1 (you should go play Savage 1 if you want a game like that), or are not playing the game correctly.

Savage 2 is a hybrid genre; it combines elements of RTS/FPS/RPG and even MOBA, it is not meant to be played as one of either of the genres. For instance, a newbie running around with a gun shooting stuff is not going to get many kills, because the ranged damage in this game is low compared to the melee damage. Likewise if a player takes commander, they cannot expect it to mirror another RTS game or mechanics, because all of the units at your disposal, save for 3 AI units, are controlled by other people.

Every element of the game is useful in some way, and if you learn how to use it then you'll eventually figure it out. Savage 2 has a high learning curve, and you can never reach the very top of that curve, I guarantee that, because I'm as close to the top as I can be, and I still haven't reached it.

Brilliant game for competitive and casual players alike, all that is required of you is to have an open mind when playing a game with many genres.
