i've been using blender for a while and it's a really powerful 3d software. it's also free!
Edit: it has environments for hard surface modeling, sculpting, texture painting (2d and 3d), particle effects, animating, physics simulations (fluids, cloths, deformation or shatter simulations on impact), 2d renderer for baking or rendering scenes, and 3 render engines, each with a different purpose (one of them can be used as a PBR workspace). it has an internal game engine too, although quite rudimentary.
i guess Misery shaped me to be patient and alert :D
when i saw the update i forgot to exhale and inhaled twice... weird...
i wouldnt know because i dont spend money on repairs :D if it's that far gone then i usually just dont bother (even though i may have the money). i agree the way i do things might be more tedious and hard but it's fun and varied. Truly no playthrough is the same as i always use what the game gives me. the game loses some of the excitement when i gather a good gear so to keep it fun i do stupid stuff sometimes. the merc mission at the waste processing station, for example, can be done with stealth now. you get jack sh*t as reward but it's fun. :D
as i said, my gear is usually sh*t tier.the guns you find worth next to nothing but if you use them instead of selling them instantly, you can save allot of money on repairs. just because i have good gear doesnt mean i will use it because in most cases it's just wasteful. you can find plenty of stuff to keep your gear in top shape without buying anything. a pack of cigarettes do away with a little hunger and radiation as well. about 3 hits and youre good after eating a small meal. after a day of runing around and doing stuff you will find enough food for that day if not from cooking your own meal. ofcorse i do have to buy SOME things, like a stove a headlamp or a universal battery thingie. you can repair allmost anything in misery but i only repair stuff if i have the things. if not, im gonna stash it untill i do. 80k for a repair is insane to me when you can do it for 0. :D
im not big on upgrades either. i do have 1 good gear on which i spend all the money i save up to keep it in top shape and to get it upgraded but other than that, it's glue and cloth all the way. if im going to the bloodsucker lair the ideal gear would be a bulat suit, night vision, a saiga, military stimpacks and maybe some cocaine but all i bring is a head lamp, a double barrel shotgun (or whatever i have bullets for), some low end stims and a protein bar. it's good enough and i dont have to repair anything.
i dont make much money but i dont need money either. i live off of the loot i gather and i use guns that i have bullets for on a given day. i keep a reliable one for those days when i wont be able to tolerate missfires (usually when dealing with humans). i sell artefacts (i keep some for myself and the 2 for Garry) and the things that can't be eaten, blown up, shot through a gun or used to repair stuff and i allso only keep one weapon for each caliber. last time i still made enough money to buy a sniper from nimble and a seva suit while i was still in Zaton. :D to summarize: i make money by not spending money
funny but the part i enjoy the most in this game is the hobo stage :D i go out of my way to do something stupid from time to time that breaks the bank purely to hinder my progression. I found that one can live off of the junk the zone provides without spending a dime (maybe a box of 9x18 or some cooked mutant meat when fortuna throws a fit). my gear is usually 70% duct tape and 30% WD-40 but it gets the job done :D if i find a gun that's worth repairing, i take it with me only when i know that the day is gonna be a hard one. I hoard everything and sell nothing, that way i allways have just the thing i need for every occasion.
the best experience i ever had in misery was when i traveled to yanov without proper planing and got stuck in a loop of doing runs just to be able to afford food and ammo for the next day even though about half a tonn worth of junk was waiting in my stash in the skadowsk. after about a week, i stumbled across a pseudogiant corpse that was still fresh. i was back in zaton the very same day, shivering from pain, exhaustion and hunger, filled with pure joy.

i'm seriously considering to do an ironman playthrough :D
i'm gonna be a cheeky cu.... so and so and say that it's like waiting for the second coming :D
this could become something big :D
that is so miserable it doesnt need a caption xD
for me the best part of the stalker games is the "hobo phase" :D and the thing that makes misery so special is that you're never truely out of it. Every time when i try to speed things up by throwing money and supplies at a problem i go broke in a blink of an eye. Every time i feel like i've made it and cobbled together a killer gear, the maintenance costs bring me to my knees in a few days. I love how even though the best suits make you able to ford anomalies, if you can't find anything useful in them, your next days will be spent scraping the bottom of the barrel for scraps to sell just to get another crack at it. Even when you buy a new shiny gun, you can't realy enjoy the moment becouse even though your life might just got a bit easyer, deep down you feel that such an investment might have dire concequences.
how can a mere mortal get hold of that addon?
looks like 20% duct tape 80% WD-40 :D i love it
is this millenias model? that one has killer animations :D
If you want to support them, you could preorder The Seed :D
Its the game they're making on the side. you can support them, you wont get burned by the toxic hype that surrounds preorder culture, and you'll get a game out of it. win - win
