Hero Siege

Game review

Finished ACT 1, got bored/killed, stopped it.
This game is average at best.
A twin stick shooter where you just run away from ennemies while firing bolts at them.
And sometime, potion or item appear, then your character picks it, show it off two second while staying immobile but still open to damage, so you can even lose after slaying the boss of the zone if a trap is aligned with the item.
And if you already have one item in the "activable" slot, you just lose it if you take a second one. So you can find yourself with a crappy weapon just because you didn't know what the item does.

Oh, sometimes you spawn directly on a trap.

The game mimics the Binding of Isaac, but even in this one you could at least shoot somewhat diagonally. Here, it's up, down, left, right and that's all.
But don't worry, most of the ennemies just makes a straight line to you, so it's not like you'd have to aim.
Some explode upon death and are more dangerous, but you can't really sort them as they are all clustered together.

It takes really long to smash crates containing gold, theres some time of cooldown (that you can skip) between waves of ennemies - to open them but it's still annoying. Gold give you the possibility to temporarily boost your stats (attack, defense, etc) and... that's all. No item buy, not even a random one.

And, seriously, 13€?
Even at half price, it's a bit too much.

Tl, Dr : buy it only if you have played The Binding of Isaac and Risk of Rain to death and you want something new in the same category.
