We're using a conversational context-based chatbot in our game.
Oh, great if you're writing docs for ChatScript! I analyzed ChatScript (including source code) a few years ago. I think our system is comparable with ChatScript in the sense of 'hardcoded logic amount', but our approach is a bit different. I think it will be hard to achieve something like this with ChatScript:
You: do you have apple?
Bot: yes.
You: and what about cookie?
Bot: I have cookie too.
Moreover, ChatScript doesn't focus on providing 'natural' bot behaviour: if you ask the same thing, ChatScript bot will answer the same thing most likely.
But maybe ChatScript is different now, I need to take a look at it to refresh my impressions.
