You should be able to reduce the triangles by using textures to simulate a higher poly count. That's what they used to do in the past before graphics got good. Then you could smooth things out a lot and get the polys way down.
This mod can wait. I'm glad such a talented guy is working on Sins 2. I love it so far and I can't wait for a port of this mod to the new engine. I hope the finished game has more flexibility in mix and match mods though. I'd love for races to be self contained so I can have different scifi factions in one game. A Star Destroyer fighting a Wraith Hive would be awesome!
I'm going to tweak the stats of the ships to make it more in line with the show. When I'm done would you guys be interested in me sending it in for you guys to post as an alternate version? If not I'll just keep it for my own enjoyment. I'm currently working on the Goa'uld. I have some ideas that I hope won't hurt the balance with the Sins Races too much.
Just being 64bit makes sins 2 leaps above sins 1. There is so much potential. I hope they keep modders in mind while finishing the game. I know the hardware limitations of sins 1 has caused lots of problems for modders in the past. I tried running Sins of the Fallen with all factions at once on a huge map. Big mistake lol
Whenever you guys move to sins 2 you should make a combined mod of the star wars and stargate with the sins races included. That would be awesome.
The Stargate Races mod has unique militias for each faction as well. Maybe you could reach out to that mod team and ask how they did it. That's if you want to. I like the mixing because I feel that the locals would be defending their own worlds even while under the dominion of another race.
My hope is they announce a remaster of the game that's 64 bit and more mod friendly.Everyone else is remastering old games why not this one?
I still play this and love it. I'm wondering though... is there a way to get the dead ships to clear? they just float forever and it makes things messy. I've dabbled in the scripting a little bit just modifying stats. Don't know anything beyond that.
Hello I have an AMD card and for some reason the latest update to the mod has an issue where the stars and shields are invisible. Other than that the mod works great.
Will the Yhuuzan Vong be added as an event like the replicators in the SG races mod?

When I play as Cerberus it doesn't let me pick a faction. It tells me I need points in Cerberus to choose control or destroy.
I usually don't group ships into fleets. What happens is if I jump 3 or more hives into a wormhole area they randomly jump between both sides of the wormhole. Like I said I think it is because of their size sometimes they overlap with the center of the wormhole and poof back and forth. It looks like flickering. I generally avoid sending hives to wormholes because of this. Not really anything that can be done unless you shrink the hive ships. That would be a lot of work though if you wanna keep the proportions between all the ships the same. I would shrink them myself but I can't get the mesh sizing tool to work.
By the way how to you make textures work with the sins remastered mod? I tried to put some meshes from SGI into my copy of the mod to get rid of placeholder ships but the textures weren't set up for your shaders.
Maybe they had A-wings?
I love the mod the only issue I've had was with the wraith hives spazzing out at wormholes. I think it is caused by the size of the hiveships. I haven't seen any other problems. Keep up the good work!
You don't need the remastered mod. It just makes the ships brighter.
Maybe when everything else is done? Making an add-on that replaces the sins races shouldn't pass the limit. I know it would be too much on your plate right now. I'd do it myself but my experience is limited to editing ship stats and changing the pop limits.
Could you guys make a minimod to make it compatible with the Stargate races? Sins of the fallen does something like that with their races and sins of a galactic empire had an Old Republic add-on. It would be cool to play as the wraith trying to feed on the Empire.

That's a game bug. Nothing they can do unfortunately. It happens especially often if you give non fighter ships fighter attack behavior.
Can someone explain how this mod lets you build 4 minor titans? I want to mod it so I can build both titan types and have 2 major and 8 minor titans. Thanks

I need help. The game crashes after a minute in the menu. I have a ryzen 3 2200g and 16 gigs of RAM. So I don't think it's a system requirement issue. Does anyone have any idea? I am using Steam.
So I love this mod but im wondering when the sg races ships with placeholder models will be done? Some of the ships use Sins models. I usually replace them myself with models from SGI but the scaling is off. Lol
