This looks good. I like the look of the level design and the characters.
I think it's very easy to lose interest in or connection with a project regardless of whether or not it's being worked on. Just give yourself a few minutes with your project and you'll rediscover why you were doing it in the first place.
This is looking really good, glad you're still working on it.
I think there's a big difference between a game being minimalist and there not being enough for the player to do or enough variety to keep it interesting.
The new additions look good. You seem to have a good variety of level designs and I like the jet pack.
Thanks for the comments. I don't have plans for multiplayer. I would like to add computer controlled cars / ghost cars and or a wider variety of track styles. Maybe something more 3 dimensional - hills and dips and the like. But I think a that point it becomes a proper sequel rather than an update.
That's good to know. I'll keep an eye out for the Greenlight.
Just stumbled upon this. It's looking really good. Hope you get it finished.
I have a list of projects I want to work on but I'm not any good at prioritising them and setting deadlines just doesn't work for me. I did it once add it just depressed me when I missed it.
I agree, keeping priority of the end goals is important so I make a single page list of what the game is going to be about and the major areas to work on, then keep a running list of the details until such point as I write a list entitled "what I need to do to get this finished".
"What would a Metroidvania be like in first person?"
...erm? Metroid Prime, maybe? However, doing it in the style of Doom would be ultra-cool.
"The problem is this has opened up a world of ideas and possibilities for future game development ideas"
I wonder how many games go unfinished because of feature creep?
This looks good, I like the way the eyes follow the ball and character customisation looks fun. I think "air hockey with emoticons" is very apt.
I take it the plan is to have the game looking like the "lighting" screen shot? Because that would look super cool.
Downloaded this for my Android tablet the other day, plays incredibly well. Really cool, not come across any technical issues yet. Really like what you've done with the art, especially the background to the levels.
I have to admit that I'm not sure how much of a game this is, it's more of a "sketch" than a full game.
It's a remake of one of the first games I attempted, about 12 years ago, that I never finished and I've been wanting to finish it for ages.
The awards were never part of the original game but added them in based on the comments you made about my hover car game in your video. I think they're a nice addition.
Yeah, that'll be really cool
Thanks for downloading, hope you enjoy playing it.
Hi to both of you.
Just had a quick go of alpha 2, side set is a really welcome addition as are the nun-chucks, which are a desperately under represented weapon in video games.
You say you're doing an android version, when will this be (let me guess, when you get around to it) and are you going to be using wretched on-screen joysticks or do you have something more cunning up your sleeve?
