I've recently looked at one of the latest ACI trailers showing a TDM with naval battlegroups and wondered if it's possible to have similar variations of TDM where groups of ground or naval units are the primary target in which the team defends their own while attacking the other. From the trailer alone, I can't tell if the ships are the only winning condition, though they do have their own counter, or if destroying the other team's aircraft also fill the bar.

I think someone once mentioned something similar with a par of Ziz circling the map, so this isn't exactly new as far as the forum goes, but more of an expansion of what's been previously discussed.

I'd say may be a good idea once more "bigger guns" (i.e Leviathan & Condor) have been officially implemented.

Now that there's videos of the Naval Assault mission I understand how it plays out.

It turns out I was right that the counter had something to do with the ships. As you shoot down the other players, the bar fills up. Those tick marks that appear spread out throughout the bar are a trigger for the naval fleet to perform an action.

What I've seen so far is as follows:

  1. The fleet advances towards the opponent's fleet.
  2. An NPC strike package is sent to attack the fleet.
  3. The fleet launches ship-to-ship missiles at the fleet.

The other bar, of course, is simply an indicator of the fleet's strength that drops as you destroy more ships.

This gets my attention even further. Knowing that we have a thread in which a mission similar to the standard ACI co-op mission is mentioned, I assume it would be possible to make similar triggers, based on what was said in that thread:

As a question on the expansion of multiplayer, has this sort of thing been discussed before?

There's a lot of suggestions for multiplayer missions and i hope they make it into the game at some point.
