SimpleMiner is only a small demonstration of the terrain capabilities of our engine. It was written over the course of one week, and won't be developed much further. The final game will have similar digging capabilities, but much more than that.
Yes, that's what we have in mind. Once the engine is ready, there will be the option for other developers to create new mods and games. It will be free for noncommercial use, and require some kind of revenue share if you want to make money with it.
That is pretty much the norm for the AAA title engines. Well something like that, don't know how normal it is for indie companies. Not even heard much about Upvoid before I saw this yesterday. Just my little input.
