Hello Again! As promised, here are some screenshots from are final few mini games! This marks the end of our programming, and we're now just doing things to tweak the sound effects, difficulty, and social experience (things like achievements, Facebook integration, etc)
First things first, since you probably don't know what Upsat is yet, check out our trailer!
Catchy tune huh? We're using that for the in-game music and dynamically changing tracks to make the experience more intense as the game speeds up. It was tough to figure out, but absolutely worth it!
Now, back to the mini-games! This first one is similar to the skiing one I showed yesterday in that you have to move your character to the safe zone before time expires. The sharks slowly swim across the screen and you have to make it to the pier. I know, it seems easy, but I promise that when you only have 1 second to do it you'll be throwing a hissy-fit and cursing us developers for making the game so hard. Just breathe, I promise you'll get through it!
Our last game, and the one that will surely get PETA all fired up, is "Don't Kick The Dog!" Sounds innocent enough, until you realize just how much you want to see that little fur ball go sailing through the posts for a 3-pointer. I have to admit, this game was inspired by a certain little animal that likes to yap until you've gone absolutely crazy.
The game works like this: either a field goal post or a soccer goal will appear on the right side of the screen. Your mission is to kick the corresponding football or futbol. Choose correctly and you're rewarded with a nice big ol' green check. Bonus: if there's time left, send that puppy flying just for fun! Come on, you know you want to!
So that's it! That's the last game! It's nice to finally be done. I guess I'll kick back and crack open a.... oh wait. You mean I still have more work to do? OK guess I'll do some sound effects now! Hopefully we'll only have a few more updates for you guys until the games release. Keep checking back, and if you like what you see so far, or just want to tell us how much you hate it, then feel free to check out our website www.midnighttangent.com or find us on Facebook and Twitter: www.facebook.com/upsat www.twitter.com/dontbeupsat
Now where can I find the sound of a boot hitting a small dog???
