The story unfolds in Marinha Grande on January 18, 1934. A young girl ventures out of her home to pursue a peculiar crowd heading towards the city centre. Her mission is to retrieve the scattered papers that one of the men in the crowd accidentally let slip. These papers hold the key to unravelling the narrative behind the cultural, industrial, or uprising event in Marinha Grande. While in the square, she must evade the military presence to avoid being captured.

Hello everyone!

Today we start by showing you the Character design of our main character.

For those who don't remember, I'll leave a little summary of the character:

The main character of our game will be a young girl, who is entering adolescence at around 12 years old. She is a free-spirited, adventurous girl and likes to get into different situations that she shouldn't, without fear she likes to discover the problems of the society of her time, but due to her young age no one ever takes her seriously.

Now that you know the description of the character, let's start with sketches of the face.

We made some sketches as you can see in the image above, but the idea that moved forward was the 4th.

After defining her face, we defined the body and clothes she would wear, based on our moodboards and for narrative reasons, we already knew that she would have to wear a dress, but we made several hypotheses of a dress to see what looked best.

None of these ideas pleased us, either because they were too simple or, on the contrary, too complex, so we decided to mix these ideas and create the perfect middle ground.

Now the part where you can participate, Exit Studio was conducting tests to find out more about the target audience's opinion on the game's mechanics and whether they would be used on a simple level. This prototype we made has no art implemented and just an old UX version that we had made. If you want to play and answer the form, feel free to do so but be aware that this is not the final game and only serves as a test of the mechanics.
