This game follows the story of what happens after the John Carpenter 1982 movie adaptation of the John W. Campbell JR Novel "Who Goes There?". The original game borrows heavily on the story from the 2002 video game and the current sequel expands further on the plot after Captain Blake defeats the Thing entity. After the death of Whitley and the destruction of Gen Inc property; Captain J.F.Blake boards a rescue plane and leaves Antarctica. Complications arise and the aircraft malfunctions and crashes. With no report from Blake the Alaska base sends in a new rescue team of which you the player take control. Your task is to find Captain Blake and escort him back to Alaska. However the thing entity did not die with Whitley on that day...

Description

The enemy have adapted Captain; The Elite has undergone some balancing. They have been weakened a bit but the trade off has come in the form of damage output. Replacing the SMG variant (v2.4+) are 3 new variants explained below. (Starting from Left to Right)

The First new variant, the rarest occurrence is Ermac; erm.. I mean the New SMG Elite. This psychopath wields dual Mac-10's and you are going to hate him... a lot. He likes to shoot anything and everything; a lot.

The Second new variant, the most common occurrence is the FAMAS Elite. He is very accurate and focuses on taking down individual targets.

The Third new variant (the uncommon occurrence) is the Assault Spectre. Using a HK33 Assault Rifle he deals high amounts of damage and can even attack x9 times if your unlucky. He is a powerhouse and not to be underestimated.

Fear not though Captain. Elite's are more rare this time in the v2.5 with usually only 1 appearing in battle at a time. The Blue Spectres (The Regular grunts) have been downgraded a lot too. They are weaker and tend to use their SMG's for x2 attacks (instead of x4). They also have a new variant with dual handguns who still uses the SMG but not as often. The Blue spectres are the most common and now the weakest ground forces Natalie will encounter.

One final spectre enemy will be revealed within the next week so keep a lookout for that Captain. The v2.5 might land in February time.
