The Hit is a multiplayer stealth-shooter, set in an open-world city with tens of thousands of NPCs. Track down your target and kill them as quickly and cleanly as possible, before the other players can manage it. Try to stay incognito, or photograph other players and take out hits on them.
Crowds are one of the main reasons I decided to rewrite The Hit from the ground up. The previous version had a limit of 100 unique NPCs. Crowds of several thousand were possible, but could only move along simple paths.
I've revised my initial goal of 10,000 unique NPCs (with crowd reactions, synched over multiplayer, with individual location damage and motivations). Now I'm aiming for 100,000 NPCs at launch, after I've added one more LoD system to the mix.
