Finally, the Weapon Shop has been implemented in Steel Storm: Burning Retribution and is available with the latest patch. Check out the video:
Other good news pertain to the DLC. As soon as Desura figures out a way to deliver paid content to existing users, we will present you with Steel Storm Weapon Pack DLC.
Lastly, Steel Storm 2 development has kicked off! The official site got an update, so please check it out at Steel-storm.com
It is a one man project. I will be doing everything from art to code to sounds and will keep you updated on the progress. Also as soon as I have playable alpha, the game will come to Desura as an alpha fund game. I am hoping for your support on this one, existing Steel Storm users, as I am reaching for the new horizon and raising the bar for the quality indie FPS games.
Sweet. Been playing SS:BR and it is a lot of fun. Can't wait for the DLC and SS2.
Happy Linux gamer. :)
Yay! Thank you. I am not sure when Desura will decide to implement DLC support. It's really frustrating.
Steel Storm 2 is up for pre-order, so don't be shy ;) I will try my best and release benchmark / raw alpha early next month.
Hopefully the DLC issue is resolved soon. I have already told a couple of friends here on Desura to keep an eye out for it. All the best. :)
PS: Love the fact that you use FOSS as much as possible (I read somewhere that you use Blender).
hm. I didn't see any patches in Desura yet. What should the version number be for this patch?
also, I'll be on the DLC as soon as its available to buy in Desura :)
@runequester: Latest version is 2.00.02965 and it is on Desura :)
@gabsd84: Thank you. We need word of mouth marketing. As a matter of fact Steel Storm 2 will have open source game logic code, so users can mod the game as in good old times of Quake.
huh, somehow the update completely escaped my notice :) So how does the weapon shop actually work ?
check out the video and it's description, try it yourself too :)
I have seen the weapon DLC being sold on Steam already, by the way, for those who wonder.
Would be interesting to see what happens to the FPS "sequel", even though there is one thing that I am quite sure of - the game will be HARD to complete. :)
