If you have the launcher, simply open it to download the update. Otherwise, you can download the launcher here!
Mac users can also get the current update here!
It's update time again! As always, nothing too big here, but still some fun stuff to play with. Now, let's get to it.
Swimming
- Both the trainer and all six Pokemon can now swim. Simply jump in the water to test it out. It's - like most things - still in its early stages, however, so don't expect it to be completely perfect quite yet.
- In the future, water Pokemon will be able to dive similar to how flying Pokemon can flap to increase their altitude.
- All Pokemon have unique movement speeds respective to the type of terrain they're fighting on/in.
- Squirtle has purpose.
New GUI
- The GUI has been reworked. It's not finished, but the framework is created so that in the future we can add in the new panels as we see fit.
- The old bottom-right bar is gone, and now may be accessed in a larger menu on the left. As the pokeball button is also gone, you may toggle catchmode by pressing Backspace. Note that this is only temporary, as there will be an action bar added in the future for catching, pokedex usage, and whatever else we deem necessary.
- You can also press the Home key to invert your current GUI setup. In the future however, this may just simply toggle it on/off instead of inverting the panels independently.
Move Changes
- Quick Attack has been reworked to be more than just another Tackle. We'll be doing more to it in the following update to make it even more special, but for now it's essentially just a faster version of Tackle.
Notes
- You'll have to press the 'Reset' button on the main menu again for this update as it will now remember your preferred character to play as (Male/Female/Spectator).
As always, we've done the occasional balance tweaks & bug fixes, which you'll likely find out for yourselves (I've forgotten what they were).
In terms of the future, I'm going to beef up Quick Attack some more as I stated above. Charmander will be getting a remake as we remade Pikachu. Swimming will be ironed out as per all of your critiques. GUI will slowly evolve over time, eventually filling out all panels fully. A new system for leveling up moves is in its early stages - lots of stuff.
We're moving slowly, but at least we're moving, right?
great effort
Thanks for this update :D
>:) awesome ashsashauhuashuas
like it, but how do i catch pokemon now? EDIT: sorry just realised its backspace
How do you talk in mp?
Nice :), New update :)
Love this update
Best fight squirtle :D
Swimming :)
Btw when will we be able to use "Pokedex"?
even if this is only beginning,i think this is the best pokemon game ever :)
Cool game guys,i played some hours of this game, and had some cool battles.
But i have some bug reports...
1:When the wild pokémon is swiming, you can't capture it,because the character can't throw the pokéball.
2:After you press reset, and enter on the game, and then press TAB,the first pokémon you had on the list Pre-Reset will spawn, and appear on the list.
3:The interface is too small for a windowed mode on 1024x768.
4:The framerate is too small aswell,it quite make-me dizzy sometimes when the character is running.
These are all the bugs i found, keep up the good work,if i find another bug,i'll try to keep you informed.
See ya later.
This is a mechanic still in itz early stages. It'll be developed further in the future, not a bug. For now, jump onto a lilypad and throw the ball.
Pikachu appearing is not a bug, that is meant to happen(for now).
Use PgUp and PgDown to resize the interface.
The framerate works great as long as your PC supports it. Try playing the game in "fast" mode.
Thanks, putting the graphic to fast helped a lot,and page up and page down also helped about the interface as well.
I tried to capture a squirtle while on land, and i just had to play as bowman to see where the pokéball went to and then be able to catch him.
Also,i found a bug that you may want to know.
When you are on battle against a pokémon, you can attack other pokémon that is nearby and the pokémon will not react until you click it to start battle with.
You can change your interface by pressing the keys on your numeric pad, without num lock on, if I'm not mistaken.
Quando que o pokémon vai evoluir ?
Sei la
AWESOME!!! Been counting down the days for this update. Cant wait to check it out.
I love the frequent updates that are made and the work put into it to make the pokemon game we have all been waiting for. Keep up the amazing work!
In my humble opinion, Bulbasaur's leech seed needs a major nerf. If he lands like 3 or 4 on your pokemon, you're practically dead, and even if you don't die, he now has a ton of health on you. I've had a couple of battles where I got careless when I had almost beaten it, and then it would turn around and land a few luck leech seeds and turn the whole battle around. Imo he is the most OP pokemon in the game right now based solely on this one move. That's just me, what do you guys think?
I agree with you.. these seeds are most lethal for meele pokémons eg. ratata or pidgey, because they cancel your move (quick attack, tackle...)
Exactly, if you are in the middle of any move, a quick leech seed completely cancels it and mini-stuns you, potentially setting you up for round 2 or even 3 of leech seed. And if you're a squirtle, you're out of luck. Yeah, ratata and pidgey have it hard.
On the plus side, I'm glad he's restructuring charmander, he's really underpowered right now as far as reach and accuracy of his ember go. I think a flamethrower or a more straightforward attack would do him more justice.
but if you are squirtle just use a tail whip and it sends the seed back at him and drains his health
really? i have never tried, thanks. Anyway, i d like to suggest to raise energy cost of leech seeds because they are quite spammable (I played Bulba once this way)
yea when playing the update and going after Bulbasaur he hit me with 2 leech seeds and nearly got me but luckily i was using pidey and just flew in the air and used what i think is gust. But on the other hand it shouldn't be nerfed since it can be countered by a simple tail whip. The wild ratatta sent a couple back at me when i used them on him and caught me by surprise.
I was the guest that mentioned Bulbasaur's OP leech seed, just in case anyone wanted to know. :)
I have noticed that while your pokemon is actually IN the water, if you choose an attack that brings the cursor up to aim (i.e. quick attack, thundershock, etc.) You can't really judge where the cursor is. This is because it puts it "on the ground", which is at the bottom of the body of water. So you can't really aim attacks like Pikachu's thundershock, which requires a lot of precision. I recommend fixing it (if possible) to make the cursor above the water.
Another thing that I discovered today is that you can damage pokemon without actually entering battle with them, i.e. quick attacking in front of them and hitting the pokemon. I know it doesn't really matter now, but it could change things when you actually have to K.O. a pokemon to catch it (I guess that's what will happen, that's how it mostly works in the show, at least).

Also, quick attack has the tendency to make the pokemon executing it "roll over" the other pokemon rather than actually hit it. This isn't really a huge problem, but it happens occasionally.
(Sorry for all of these comments, I'll try to bundle them together more, next time, I'm just reporting things as I find them. I figured you guys don't mind constructive criticism.) :)
the button of pokebals are not working, i can't catch any pokemon
You have to press the backspace button to use the pokeballs at this point in production.
speriamo che i pokemon si posano evolvere arrivati ad un certo livello e sempre se uno lo desideri :)
we hope that you can evolve pokemon got to a certain level and if one wishes always :)

i think it would be cool if fire produced bubbles underwater and electricity had auto target in the water and made lots of tiny bubbles (electrolysis) it could leave behind sludge and eventually grimer could show up.
i noticed a cave under water i cant wait to find out whats its use is\
maybe in a future update that could be a gyrados's home or something
Que grande chicos, esto cada vez se ve mas animado!
Seguir así!
Excelente!

Ummm, why can Charmander Swim...? Is that right???
I find it humorous as well. IIRC in the anime if the flame on charmander's tail goes out it dies lol. It doesn't faint, it doesn't get knocked out. IT DIES
