1: HLBSP is better for PSP, Q1BSP semms to crash more than HLBSP.
If your map doesnt load from the console try to replace some existing map (anstieg.bsp for example)with your own map and load it, it should work that way. Dont ask me why..
2: carving is just usefull when adding doors and windows, but i have my own method: i just build everything from scratch, and my doors and windows are own prefabs now :D

4: is it ok to use some textures from NZP? Also, is it possible to use external textures for transparent stuff?
EDIT: if we apply the maps in your forum, everybody can download it.. Is there another way?
just put password on rar file, yes it is possible to get transparent textures with external, it has to have alpha channel, at least for pc, idk about psp
btw: theres another way to use transparent suff:
place_model and a sprite or a mdl, should do the job on the PC and PSP, but you are limited to the Q1 palette.

i know about pc (TGA and alphachannel stuff), the PSP seems to use PCX with Pink color for transparency, but the palette needs to be Q1 palette.

1. I was wondering about this, thankfully it was answered. Too bad I have to limit the map so it works on the psp, understandable, but annoying.
