MaceMadunusus wrote: Here is a fairly lengthy tutorial on how to create a customizable lightsaber hilt within UDK. This is also my first ever video tutorial.

This tutorial does not go into detail on creating the model, uv's, or texture maps. It details how to change your texture maps to make them color customizable and allowing them to be efficient at the same time. This is done by using multiple channels rather than masks or additional textures.

This method can be used for more than lightsaber hilts. It can also be used on character models, map props, and just about anything you can think of. This tutorial shows more specific names and abilities that you can do on a hilt.

Programs Used:
Photoshop CS4
UDK - February 2012
