Epic Game's self-publishing tools couldn't have released at a better time. I originally wanted to publish there and Steam, but forewent the storefront for 2 reasons:
1) I've never published a game before and trying to learn and manage two storefronts seemed like too much.
2) I would have to pitch the game to Epic to be considered for the store and figured my small game wouldn't appeal to them. #madewithunreal can only take you so far.
So I focused on Steam, became comfortable managing Grief Trigger's page, and had to hope it would be enough. Then out of the blue Epic announced self-publishing last week. Thanks to Steam I'm comfortable pushing game build to servers, creating capsule and trailers, and have descriptions/specs ready to go. It only took me a day to set the page up and it was approved the next business day.
