Flagship is a real-time strategy game set on a galactic scale, played from a first person perspective. The game is being built from the ground-up to be played with the Oculus Rift, though it can be played on a normal monitor as well.
Depictions of black holes vary greatly (nobody really knows what they actually look like), but the lensing effect is something we're playing with. It just looks very odd in combination with the accretion disk. :P
It's an accretion disk, formed by matter being drawn into the black hole. If you do an image search for 'black hole' you can see the reference images we used. A black hole on its own would be barely visible, but we may include those types in the game as well.
I guess your accretion disk just looks a bit yellow to me. I always imagined there would be a lot more "gray" colored stuff, unless it were in some kind of odd colored nebula with brightly colored gas.
Oh my god get the hell out of there!
First thing I will do in this game is to fly inside one of this sweethearts
Ha, why am I not surprised! :P
Looks great. I'm with the wookie, I'm going straight into it! Wouldn't there be gravitational lensing though?

What's all the yellow stuff, is the blackhole inside of a neon nebula or something?
