By fans, for the fans,
Developed by a team of experienced modders from the Paradox forum, Darkest Hour is a stand-alone Hearts of Iron game featuring a mixture of short and in-depth campaigns set across the darkest chapters of the 20th century, from the outbreak of the Great War up to the onset of the Cold War. Darkest Hour will introduce a new artificial intelligence that is now able to react to hundreds of different situations simultaneously, along with a dynamic diplomatic system that will allow the player to have a real impact on the course of history.
Darkest Hour will release on the 5th of April for download through all major digital download partners.

Hi there! Brazilian Slaughter here. This has been a long time in the making, but the last three months and a few weeks have been quite a ride for me.
This version was supposed to come out as 2.4.2, as a simple patch focused mainly on the new combat system, out in April or May, but between me getting a job (YAY!), the patch's scope increasing and Arcangelus giving me a lot of files with cool changes to fit with what I made, eventually this version outgrew what was the old 2.4.2 patch and instead became FODD 2.5.
Lots of important work in this version, preparing the base and seeding the seeds for what I want to do, in the future. So I am quite happy with this version, and have plans for more in the future! Why, the last days I've been doing research on Oregon, for example!
Why my games always end up with cursed maps?
I'm sorry for the delay, but on the plus side this is probably the biggest version I have delivered so far. I'm not one to toot my horn, but the changelog is HUGE.
Furthermore, I was going to make a dev diary about the new features, but I decided to just publish it anyway. I can do it later, lots to talk about. I have a dev diary for after that one ready, funny enough.
Ever wish the Great Lakes were navigable and connected to the ocean? Well, thanks to the incredible Arcangelus, they are now!
One important change: The mod's soundtrack no longer comes together with the main mod file. It is a separate (optional, but we all know we will download it) download from the mod. This is because:
1. Every version would come with the old soundtrack, hogging space. This saves space and bandwidth, now the compact file is not even 400mbs.
2. Mod size would balloon immensely if I included the entire soundtrack with the mod file. The FODD Soundtrack is almost 2gbs in size, and it will increase in size soon. Plus, this way, if you ever need to reinstall the mod and already have this soundtrack, you can just use the files you already have.
Take care and have fun!

Instead of replacing all the hoi2 unit graphics with the hoi1 ones, this folder only replaces the infantry/chivalry gfx
Second release, some flags got updated, the previous folder should be fully deleted and the new extracted, don't overwrite the previous!
First release, should fully work, but you can get fully nonhistorical outcomes.
One year ago I was developing this mod for Darkest Hour and Armageddon, but after many months I decided to drop it. If someone want to complete it, you...

My favorite of its kind together with Victoria 2, but not so heavy for the PC. I mostly like its exact maps (unlike HoI3) and easygoing gameplay.
Iron Cross is MUCH better than Darkest Hour, unless you just want to try a WW1 game. But then Paradox still thinks that HOI3 was worth it hahahahahahaha.
