Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter Reborn is a first person hunting simulator where you hunt the largest and most dangerous creatures to ever exist – DINOSAURS.

This game is a sequel of the original classic dinosaur hunting video game, Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter. It’s an authentic hunting simulation where you track and stalk your prey. Careful and thoughtful consideration must be taken during the hunt; to survive you'll need to know your preys temperament and mannerisms, and just like in real hunting, you need to be aware of your surroundings (you don't want to be caught upwind of a T-Rex or you'll end being lunch). Remember you're not hunting deer, you're hunting dinosaurs.

You’ll visit huge, beautifully rendered and realistic 3D environments, each with their own unique Eco systems. There are pristine beaches, dense jungles, pine forests, muddy marshes, rocky plains and deserts to explore. Environments can be used to increase the odds of a successful hunt. Players can follow trails and track animal footprints. Awareness of wind direction is important since some dinosaurs can smell you. Using stealth and land elevation will give you a sound advantage over some of the more vicious dinosaurs.

Choose between a high caliber rifle, sniper rifle, a silent crossbow or tranquilizer gun, which puts your prey to sleep instead of killing it. You can also carry sidearms. Some of your equipment includes a handheld Gadget, which includes radar and GPS satellite positioning to make tracking the beasts easier, Cover Scent which masks your smell and numerous other goodies, which will prove indispensable for your hunting adventure.

There is a wide variety of different dinosaurs to hunt each with unique behaviors and intelligence. Every dinosaur in Carnivores has realistic, advanced AI logic, so from species to species , each will react differently to you. Some dinosaurs will flee if they see you, while others will become enraged and attack. During your adventure you'll experience everything from "pea-brained" dummies to cunning dinosaurs, with heightened senses of sight, hearing and smell. So be careful and stalk your prey intelligently, otherwise you might be the one being hunted.

The Carnivores Saga - Banner

Well then - hello there,

Welcome to The Carnivores Saga, a long-standing community that originally was centered on the Carnivores video game series but has grown much larger since those humble days.
We are a community of dinosaur enthusiasts, video gamers, modders, programmers, artists, content creators and much more!

The purpose of this group is to help keep our community organized on ModDB and to assist in spreading awareness of little-known mods made by our community.

Feel free to discuss all things Carnivores, but please keep this group clean and safe for work, remember that if you wouldn't say it to your grandmother, please don't say it here.
We would also prefer that political topics and drama would not be discussed in this group, thank you.

We look forward to seeing all the amazing things our community has and will create, good hunting out there!

Deffo a solid base for a good game here. It just sadly does not have enough to it to make it stand out and to be a great game. Pros are it looks pretty nice. Not the best looking game around but it gets the job done the dinosaur models are really nice well modelled and animated.

The Ankylosaurs and Tyrannosaurus look really really nice and have an impressive amount of detail but the Triceratops takes the price for best model. It looks amazing i could look at it all day. The dinos all leave foot prints behind a feature that really should have been in the older games but never was. The maps while few look pretty good also .The water looks nice and the maps are very detailed and are really well made for hunting and some of the maps look beautiful at times.
The game play and gun play are much improved from the past games. You are actually pretty fast and have good mobility with or with out your weapon equipped you can sprint if you want to. The older games you were so soooo slow i hated it and when you had your weapon out you were pretty much a turtle. The gun play is improved over the older games it feels really good to use your weapons. The weapons all sound decent and you can aim down the ion sights.
The weapons are all modelled and animated well. Seriously the gun play and player speed are leagues above the older games and i love that. The Dinosaurs have more varied behaviour so they are more interesting to observe and hunt. Yes the dinosaurs have some interaction with each other here unlike the older games. I have come across a dead Stegosaurus and i did not hunt it down but i did see a ceratosaurs near by so its pretty obvious what happened there. Carnivores will also eat your downed trophy hunted animals if you do not claim them. Its seriously so so cool when you anger a Triceratops it will turn to face you and give out a huge roar just before it charges at you its a rush i tell you.
The crossbow is amazing in this game. Its so satisfying sneaking around the maps taking out dinosaurs with out being noticed. There are also quite a few upgrades within the game so there are more things to use your points on this is also a big improvement from the older games.

The game has got great potential there just needs to be more here and it needs a good layer of polish. The game can be great but there are glitches and just not enough content. It also for some reason runs pretty poorly on my gaming pc which is really bizarre. Hopefully with the new release and the engine change to unity the games problems with be patched out and hopefully this okay game will be turned into a really really good HD carnivores experience. Will be looking forward to the new patch. Right now id rate the game 7 to maybe even an 8 out of 10 hopefully with the engine change and improvements it will go up to a 9 out of 10. And if we can mod the new release then that will be perfect. Lets make Carnivores HD great again.

Unfortunately this game was done quickly and poorly. The assets and textures are unprofessional and very low quality. It seems to be an open world, but if you want to swim to a surrounding island, you can't even do that. At least they kept to the theme of original Carnivores with hunting and upgrading, but I don't see the love.
Very low budget and uninspiring game. With engines like Unity and Unreal, games like this have full capacity to create amazing detailed environments with realistic assets and textures.
Just not seeing it here in Carnivores Reborn
