Aether Way is a 2D space real time strategy with action elements. You play as an abstract life form that travels across the space and lives in stars.

Features:
- procedurally generated space
- non sci-fi setting with no spaceships but space, full of living beings
- 5 different races, each with its own abilities and lots of upgradeable parameters
- optional economy system with production chains, markets and resource flow.(Not presented in demo)
- strong topology orientated strategy with inexhaustible resource system and automatic units production
- auto defence system allows to focus on planning your actions instead of units direct control
- combination of strategy and action. Use your guardian to support your forces or perform diversions in enemy rears
- the game's music is also procedurally generated.

Activities:
- strategy - control your forces and conquer star systems to overthrow enemy races because they will try to do the same to you.
- action - use your guardian to explore the space, fight enemies, find treasures and other stuff.
- events - happen randomly or can be triggered by a player. Trade caravans, weather changes, accidental meetings, strong enemies, game crashes sometimes.
- missions - use brute force or try to be quick and unnoticed to complete the missions. >15 different mission types.
- economy - 2 economy types - simple and extended - use that you like more.
- trading - buy cheap and sell expensive, of course if you have large inventory to store all that you bought.
- craft - gather resources to make items that can be used in combat or sold to traders.
- tactical battles - control a squad of units on a hexagonal game field. Semi-rpg battle system with tanks, supporters and damagers.

I like what I see so far. Movement speed seems a bit too slow though (or maybe I have a crappy PC).

I played the demo for a couple hours over the past two or three days. Will there be a way to save progress in a level?

Hi. Thank you for trying out the game. This is really important to me since none of my friends liked the game and i started to think i'd be the only one who would play it).
I agree that the speed is a bit slow. It's a hard topic since i need to keep a balance between strategy and action. I'm still working on a game's dynamic though and hope it'll get better in future.
(Anyway, it's not because of pc, my pc will celebrate its 10th birthday this year and is still capable of running this game smoothly enough)

Right now the most of level's progress is automatically saved when you finish playing the level by pressing 'end level' menu button so you can start from the same place next time.
I will add 'autosave each 15 min.' feature in future but not planning to add explicit Save/Load functions since they spoil the fun imo(well, may be i'll add them on easy difficulty).
Unfortunately, you can not save progress in tutorial level at all, it's a known issue, you'd better skip this miserable level if you tired of doing it's missions over and over.

Ah yeah, I found out about saving progress shortly after posting.
I just came back to say I'm still kinda hooked on this. The speed is my only complaint.

Good luck.

By the way, I can't remember the last time I had to use the Pause/Break button on my keyboard to actually pause something. I forgot that key existed.
