ABOMINATION: A Ram's Tale

THE STORY:

Abomination: A Ram's tale is a story-driven role-playing game that follows the tale of a ram who was used as a test subject in a gruesome laboratory. Being the runt of the litter was not easy, but our protagonist grew up happily like his other, taller siblings. This did not last for long. Complications with the operation of the ram ranch convinced the owners that they needed to donate one of their rams to a local genetic experiment.

This is where your story begins.

The story of this game is entirely up to you. Over the course of the game, you will be presented with a series of opportunities to do good, bad or neither. Doing so affects the overall path that your character takes, and thus the outcome of the story.

All of this will take place over five chapters of the game.

THE GAMEPLAY:

The game consists of two main parts: The overworld and Combat.
Like most RPGs, you will spend a good deal of your time exploring the overworld in search for items and quests, some of which will contribute to the outcome of your story.

The combat phases are closely related to the overworld in that the perspective doesn't change and it takes place in real time. To be effective in combat, you must make use of your surroundings while observing your enemy's attack patterns to determine the best course of action.

Depending on the path of your character, you will be granted special abilities and stats that will greatly aid you in combat, but will also change how enemies approach you.

THE ART:

The direction of the art style in this game is heavily inspired by Undertale! Most of the art is created by our lead artist, who can be found on Instagram @dingo_squared!

The soundtrack for the game is produced by DJ ESKIMO, who created the soundtrack for Billy Gunslinger! Many of the songs feature soft piano melodies and upbeat banjo strums that inspire the player to keep moving forward!

The official soundtrack for Chapter 1 is now available on Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify and YouTube!

The full game is still in development and has an estimated release date of late 2021 and is expected to be released on Windows and Mac with iOS and Android ports coming soon after!

The Current State of ABOMINATION: A Ram's Tale

Hello everyone!

Here we are in 2021: the original planned release date for the full version of ABOMINATION: A Ram's Tale. Unfortunately, there has been some complications during the development of the game that have occurred over the past year in a half that makes this goal unattainable.

Simply put, the original team working on this project has been reduced down to only one person (the one writing this log), and development of the game became pretty much halted as a result of this.

This all sounds bad, and for a while it seemed like the project was never gonna start back up again, but as of the time I am writing this, work is starting on the next chapter(s) of the game! The original model was to release the first chapter as a demo and then release the whole game when it was finished, but since so much time as passed since the first chapter was released, I find it most appropriate to release each chapter as it is completed!

So, this now leaves one question: when will the next chapter of ABOMINATION: A Ram's Tale be released?

I cannot give an exact date, but I am thinking around some time in the first half of 2022 will be when the chapter will be released!

Apologies for anyone who had their hopes up for a full release this year, but rest assured that more chapters are on the way!
