This was my first Android game, and it's still under development. I recently made all 6 episodes available in the free version, albeit with some hopefully unobtrusive ads. Here's the promo text from the Play store: "Eight Bit Jim is on an adventure. His Pixel Jump-jet has run out of fuel and he needs to find some on a desert island. But it's not that simple. He must run around on PLATFORMS, jump over BADDIES and collect COINS, which is how his days usually turn out. It's almost like the last 30 years didn't happen. This game doesn't benefit from recent advances in graphics, sound effects and AI. As far as Eight Bit Jim is concerned, it's still 1983." The idea is to create a game that reminds players of early 1980s computer games, and is fast and fun to play. My target audience is people in their 30s and 40s who remember games on platforms like the ZX Spectrum (in the UK), or the Commodore 64 and Atari 2600.

Aaah, the ZX81. If you're reading this outside the UK you might not know what I'm talking about. This computer was ridiculously cheap and had only 1K of RAM. Here 8-bit Jim explores a very low-resolution island. (He's the "K" by the way, which was the character used by the ZX81 as its cursor).
