Digital Anvil was a games development company formed in 1996 and acquired by Microsoft in 2000. They released the games Starlancer and their flagship title Freelancer. Digital Anvil employees were moved to Microsoft Game Studios in November 2005, before Digital Anvil was officially dissolved in January 2006.
