Except for a stray item bitmap here and there, the engine now relies completely on original environment and actor graphics. Terrain and pathfinding have been improved, combat has been reverted to turn-based, renderer properly sorts large isometric objects. I am trying to stabilize basic gameplay systems before I get a job, so I can build the world in my spare time, piece by piece, without having to go deep into the code again.
And no, this isn't a Fallout remake. Yes, it is inspired by Fallout. However, my drive toward this project has not been based on Fallout's exact world, but rather on its gameplay and design principles, which were completely ignored in Fallout 3 and up.
