So once again it has been a while since the last update! but now I have joined the team as a full time artist things should really start to pick up! My name is Aaron Foster and I did work as an Environment Artist professionally for about 2 years but I recently quit my job to pursue my dream, making games!
To start off with, I have been trying to copy what we have in game and bleed more of that into the concept and illustration work. Below are two character concepts that are more in line with what we have currently in game. The reason for this is because the old darker style really didn't represent the game's direction anymore and I really needed to tie it all together so that everything felt more consistent.
Go go aaron!
Looks really nice!
by the look if it, it looks like the game itself going to be a a Zelda style when the camera is moving from above the character
Looks interesting, I think I'm going to eyeball it ;)
Looking really impressice!

Darkplaces Engine though? Really? Care to explain why?
Theres nothing wrong with the Darkplaces engine in fact its really good. Check out Nexuiz.com its using Darkplaces. Plus its open source so that could have been what swayed them to it.
Alientrap.org use this link the other one didnt lead directly to nexuiz
I should have linked to that as well but I was trying to show that the engine is being used in a commercial game as well.
the commercial engine is an polished version of the normal DP engine, its optimized for consoles and most important of all its closed source.
LordHavoc said that anything he writes is going into DP for general use unless a NDA blocks it or its a crude hack he doesn't like, so the important parts will be open source and this game will be able to take advantage of the new features and optimizations that are made. Thats why I chose it as an example project. Any way I don't want to derail this article any more and I didn't mean to bloat the comments this much.
you quit your job now how are you going to live lol..
you just cant pressume this will sell...
Why isn't this game added to the site?
IndieDB? It seems to had been added before the launch of IndieDB:
Indiedb.com
Oh, no, my mistake.
Probably it could be tagged as "commercial" earlier, that's why the game hasn't been moved to IndieDB. Don't see another explanation.
sorry made a useless post :'-(
