2D Animator
Mystic Games is seeking a 2D Animator to join our creative team in crafting visual elements for our game Morphing. In this position, you will work closely with our Lead Animator to bring characters and environments from our universe to life. Your skillset should include 2D character and monster/animal animation, sprite sheet creation, frame-by-frame animation, and ideally some Unity knowledge.

Mystic Games is a chill and welcoming team where aspiring game developers can work together on projects filled with passion. Our goal is to help others improve their skills by collaborating with other people, so that everyone can grow and learn together. Our dearest wish is to make games and experiences that our players will remember forever.
Our work schedule is very lax since we're all volunteers. We respect that everyone has their own pace. We try to do meetings every now and then to check our progress, but there are no hard deadlines to the project. We trust that everyone is doing their part, and we encourage team members to help each other and communicate.
About The Game
Morphing is a 2D action-adventure platformer that takes place in a fantasy world. You play as Shin, a small creature who lost his memories and acquired strange powers after a mysterious event.
Now able to morph into various heroes from across time, he sets out to uncover the secret behind his amnesia, and repel the corrupted creatures that have invaded the continent.
Shin can transform into three different forms and switch between them at will. The player must use this ability to defeat fierce monsters, overcome challenging obstacles and solve compelling puzzles.
Your Missions
- Animate basic character movements (roughly 8 frames per movement)
- Animate monster movements and attacks
- Animate environmental assets
- Assist our main animator in cleaning up and coloring sketches
What We're Looking For
- Must be 18 or older
- Strong interest in video games
- Good understanding of 2D animation principles
- Experience in frame-by-frame animation
- Experience in digital art programs (familiarity with layers, transparency, etc.)
- Good communication skills and ability to provide relevant feedback
- Able to work remotely and communicate via Discord or e-mail
