This is a simple MEL script that will rescale all the UV-shells of a selected mesh so that they get exactly the same amount of TD (texel density). It works for Maya 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012
:: INFO ::
This is a simple MEL script that will rescale all the UV-shells of a selected mesh so that they get exactly the same amount of TD (texel density).
It works for Maya 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012
This is not my MEL-script - It's a script that has been floating around the internet for a while and I first got my hands on it when I was in school.
:: INSTALLATION ::
Install the script like any other Maya script. Use any of the below paths:
C:\Documents and Settings\ -username- \My Documents\maya\ -version- \scripts
X:\Autodesk\Maya -version-\scripts
:: USAGE ::
1) Inside Maya, select your mesh and open up the UV-texture editor.
2) use the "command line" (bottom left input field) and set it to "MEL" and type in:
setTexelDensity
3) A popup window will appear asking you to enter the texture size and the TD. If you just want your shells to have the same TD then simplyenter any two numbers (like 64 64). Done!
