Last week I got everything for the app prepared to submit to the iOS App Store. I need to do this because some of the app testing sites I am using use promo codes to get access to the builds, and from talking with other developers, this just seems to be the way to do it. Put it up for review with a release date sometime in the future and then when you are approved, give out promo codes.
With the Google Play store, you actually upload your app as a Beta (or Alpha) build and you select who can get access it via Google+ communities. I just finished getting the Google Play beta build submitted today.
Doing all this preparation has made me aware of all the things I really need to do to be ready for the final release. I still have some tinkering to do with screenshots and icon files and who knows what else I will find along the way.
If any parents on IndieDB are interested in taking a look at the app in its beta stage, let me know if you have Android or iOS and I will add you to my beta testers list (limited room available). I don't know if anyone actually reads this stuff though. :)
