I started working on the desert biomes today. The desert will be a very harsh environment full of heat and dangerous enemies...And cacti
As I was working in the desert I decided that it would also be cool to include some oases for the player to find. These will be a nice respite from the harsh environment of the desert assuming that unfriendly mobs or NPC's don't have the same idea. There will also be some special items that can only be found in an oasis. Here's a few results of the oasis generation passes. The results are pretty good. I was able to get a small body of water with some grass around it to generate some interesting shapes.
Here is what the oasis looks like after populating it with some objects. This is still very early, prob gonna be working on this for a few days.
