Noesis Interactive Will Serve as a ‘One Stop’ Shop for Education Institutions for Unity Technologies and Noesis’ Video-Based Courseware and Instructional Materials

Posted by on

Unity Technologies, the leading provider of the multi-platform game development platform for Web, PC, Mac, Wii, and iPhone, today announced a worldwide education distribution and training relationship with Noesis Interactive.

Educators around the world have begun to develop academic programs to teach students how to develop video games as part of a game development track, certificate or degree. To enhance and accelerate this opportunity, Noesis Interactive will serve as a one stop shop for education customers to purchase both the Unity Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and Noesis created Video Courseware at special educational prices, along with extensive instructional materials for the Winter Terms beginning in January 2010.

Somehow everything I see in Unity looks flat, no matter how high the detail is...

Good job with the tutorials, though. Noesis is making a name for themselves in modding and gaming.

What about non students? Will it be accessible by everyone?
I'm planning to look into unity in the near future and such a program might be just the right thing to get started! :)

A light version of Unity (check here: Store.unity3d.com) was recently released for free, so it's possible to give it a spin without investing anything. It's essentially a lighter version of the full Unity platform as I understand it.

Yes, the same tutorials that will be used in the school courses will eventually be available for individuals. We'll make another news post once they're released.

The free version of Unity is really close the full commercial version so check it out and get started on those games!
