We are Forged Chaos and we are developing Trials of Ascension: Exile, a "Host Your Own" multi-player fantasy sandbox survival game for the PC where you host your own private island, set the rules as you see fit, and invite others to share the experience. Play as the civilization-building humans, evolve your beast-like skills while you master the hunt as the spider-like raknar, or defy all odds to grow as a powerful dragon!
As you can see by our roadmap, we have a solid set of functioning features with progress being made each week. We are open about our progress and invite the public to watch as we post and complete the user stories on the roadmap.
If chosen, you would be joining a team of twelve capable fun-loving folks. We are all about progress, process, and fun. Let's break those down...
We run two week sprints where you are asked to fill up your to-do list with the amount of work you think you can get done. You are in control of how much you contribute (sans a small amount of hours per sprint we require to ensure progress continues).
We have this whole "remote team" thing down to a science. We have a fleshed out game design document (GDD) that we refer to daily for guidance, we use Slack for daily discussions, Skype for our weekly all-team voice meetings and Trello to track task priority and effort. We know the importance of a having a solid infrastructure in place so we take our workflows and processes seriously.
While we are super serious about the creation of ToA:Exile, we believe in having as much fun as humanly possible. Truth be told, we are a group of politically incorrect scallywags that probably laugh too hard at things that ought not to be laughed at, and for that we will never apologize. NEVA!
We offer a generous revenue share that increases with the more time and effort you put into the project. The contract, our projections, specifics of our processes and goals will be discussed with qualified applicants after a NDA is signed.
If you can make a mesh come to life through the awesomeness of animation, we would like to chat. We're hoping to see:
- Excellent 3D animation skills
- Skilled at animating naturalistic actions
- An understanding of animation principles with an ability to think in 3D
- Experience in rigging and applying skin weighting
- Ability to pick up new technical skills and concepts quickly
- A passion for video games and the player experience
- Be willing to learn (and teach) new tools and techniques
- Be meticulous and organized in the approach to tasks, adhering to pipeline workflow
