What is it? VEmpire is a digital card game, a so called DeckBuilding-Game. Accessibility and fun but also a deep and compelling gameplay within a great atmosphere have been our goals from the very beginning. We have been highly focusing on the game-mechanics. It is our dedicated goal to combine the depth of a trading card game with the accessibility and pace of a deck building game. With several unique features we have been designing an outstanding game experience that is fresh and also atmospheric interesting. -It is the goal of the game to build a strong “Empire” of cards on the game board not in the decks. -You decide with which "Class" you want to play. -You build and play "Groups", the most powerful unities in the game, which are designed after its historical examples (e.g. Pairs like 'Sisi' & 'Franz Joseph') -"Holding" ability for the cards in your hand provides you more strategic flexibility and control

The Rules and the GameBoard (Alpha)

A VEmpire Game starts with the flip of a dime. “Head” means you’ve won and you can decide the Class with which you want to play first. The opponent will therefore start playing, after selecting his Class from one of the remaining classes.

Basic Deckbuilding Rules of VEmpire

At the beginning of the game and at the end of each turn every player draws 5 cards from his Deck. The player who plays second (the one who selected its’ favorite class first) draws 6 cards, only in the first round.

At the end of each turn, before the cards for the next turn are drawn, all played cards are moved back into the players Discard-Pile.

This means that played cards - most spells and all acquiring cards - will stay in play and appear again later, because if the Deck is empty the Discard-Pile is shuffled and turns into the ‘new’ Deck.

This is not true for cards which were played into the Empire or cards which landed in the Graveyard!

The goal of the game is to build a powerful Empire by playing strong cards into your Realm.

The Empire (or Realm) is powered up by the Realm-Value of each card, but only if a card is explicitly played into the Empire. Once a card is played into the Empire it cannot be played anymore, so decide wisely!

Better cards can be acquired from the “Market-Place” by playing cards from your hand for acquiring, which means spending their Gulden-Values.

The Market-Place shows up the current All-Gulden value in the golden label on the left side at the top.

This are all the guldens that can be spent on new cards within this turn. The current player can acquire cards from the Middle-deck (the 3 cards in the middle) or the “Private-Deck” (the two left cards for the local player, the two right cards for the opponent) which are same or less in cost than the All-Gulden value.

Cards that can actually be acquired are marked with a green border. If a card is “bought” it went immediately into the players Discard-Pile.

The Private-Deck contains all vampire cards of the players selected class. It is meant to build your Empire mainly out of this cards.

If the Realm-Value of a player is 40 or more Points this player is about to win. He will win if the opponent cannot beat its Realm-Value within the next 3 rounds!

Any Feedback or Questions are very Welcome
