The name "Umma Gamma" is inspired by the Pink Floyd album Ummagumma, but with a slight twist: “um” in Russian means “mind” or “thoughts” while “gamma” was added to represent “game” or “gaming” aspect, so in effect it is a symbiosis of two languages to imply “thoughts game”.
The game is an concept from Ivan Samokish, an aspiring author, who also is a passionate gamer. With Umma Gamma, an ultimate fusion of words and gaming can take place. Ivan believes that this game can help you relax, focus and discover a new experience. Although the game will have a time-score, a player can progress at their own pace. The game is inspired by the mad scribblings on paper and later on birchwood during Ivan's writing sessions, which he found would help overcome writer's block and also looks something like this:
And ends up getting coloured in as such (a constant work in progress) below:
Ivan's goal is to create a game based on the principle behind these abstract and crude drawings. In the above example, there are about 30 words related to the concept of time (love, hope, memory are among a few). Each individual letter is coloured randomly to add the difficulty of finding the complete list of words. In Umma Gamma, the goal is slightly simplified - there is a large open-ended puzzle but due to the screen size of phones and tablets, each puzzle will be smaller in scope. However, the same principle persists: each letter is coloured differently and the goal is to find a certain number of words, plus additional combinations.
Ivan has launched a few crowdfunding projects in the past - both on Indiegogo and Kickstarter. These projects were prepared hastily and without the necessary preparation. They were also larger in scope. However, despite the initial setbacks, the team behind Umma Gamma is optimistic that it will find backers willing to support the concept here on Kickstarter.
We embrace the fixed funding approach as we firmly believe in the all-or-nothing principle. Our expenses were calculated based on the number of graphics we believe are necessary to keep the player engaged. We can program the game, but lack the digital design skills necessary to create all the original graphics. For this purpose, we will be hiring a talented artist to help us with the graphical aspects. Ivan will be drawing each individual puzzle on paper and the artist will render each in digital vector format.
Hopefully, we can raise enough funds with your help to make this a success and continue to develop more unique concepts in the future!

Umma Gamma has launched on Kickstarter!
The main premise of the game is that there will be multiple levels, each level containing numerous letter puzzle collages. The player must search for and find as many words as possible by combining the letters. Here is how it will look:
The game was inspired by my own scribblings on paper and then later on wood, as here:
We are offering various backer rewards and have a game trailer video on our project page!
