Snacky Snakes is a variation on the classical snake game. It's all scalable 2d vector graphics.
You steer the snake be tilting the phone. The controls are accurate and responsive.
The more snacks you eat the longer the snake gets. Be careful not to crash!
You get points dependent on what you eat. There is a high-score table for each of the three levels. You compete against the preset high-scores and after that you compete against yourself. The best score I've got is over 1000 on level three which is difficult.
Snacky Snakes is basically just an enjoyable time-waster.
I'm planning a fourth level. It will have cake and other snacks. I'm thinking that there will be a very thin and very fast snake on that level, but I haven't made up my mind yet.
In addition to fixing some issues to make placement of the ad completely as google encourages developers to do, I've added eye movement. Actually there was eye movement very early on, but the effect of it disappeared as the game went from being slow to being much faster. I've added that the eyes will follow items when the snake is close to them.
For example, if you just drive around level far away from any snacks, the eyes will be looking mostly forward but also following where you think of turning. However, when the snake approaches an item, the eyes will be fixed on that item as long as you are close to it. When there are many items on the screen at once, the eyes will select the one that is closest, alternating between the different items and looking forward. There is an issue where the eyes spaz out a bit when you hold the phone just right, but it has absolutely no impact on gameplay.
I have fixed some issues that caused the game to stutter on some phones.
Snacky Snakes no longer requires the read phone state permission. This was never really needed but was a leftover from early testing.
