We now have a better death system with blood splatter and sound effects, as well we have a sliding system that takes hills that are too steep and forces you to slide down them. The slide comes in handy because otherwise if the hills were steep you would bounce as you went down them, now you don't. The death system is nice cause you get a definitive I am dead sequence now instead of just vanish and reappear.
